Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the forthcoming international mini-symposium and workshops “Opportunities for enhancement of Integrated Pest Management” organized by the Warsaw Plant Health Initiative Project. The purpose of the meeting is to promote up-to-date concepts on Integrated Pest Management and offer the opportunity to share views and experiences on the latest developments in this field. The symposium will be divided into three thematic sessions:

Induced plant resistance: current advances and perspectives.
Functional biodiversity: the role of ecological infrastructures and invasive (alien) pests and natural enemies.
Perspectives and bottlenecks in manipulation of insect behaviour for enhancement of IPM.

The workshops will follow the symposium, and will focus in more detail on particular pest species, their behaviour and modelling, and on methodology of environmental risk assessment of using genetically modified plants (especially trees).

The event will take place on April 1-3, 2014 at the campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Poland.

Looking forward to meet you in Warsaw,

Yours faithfully,
Organising Committee
